Indiana Information: Indiana, whose name means, "Land of the Indians" has many appealing attributes.   Indiana is 15th in population at nearly 6.3 million.  Its residents are called Hoosiers.   Indiana is bound on the north by Lake Michigan and the state of Michigan; on the east by the state of Ohio; on the south by the state of Kentucky, with which shares the Ohio River as a border, and on the west by Illinois.  Indiana is one of the Great Lakes states. Renting a place in Indiana is a great way to experience the vast beauty and lifestyle this state has to offer.

Speed draws racing fans to the center of Indiana each year.    Annually each Memorial Day weekend, hundreds of thousands of people come together to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to see the famous Indy 500 to watch cars reach speeds in excess of 220 mph zoom around a 2.5 - mile oval track.  Many residents sometimes offer their houses and homes for rent, so plan ahead and you might find a great place to rent for the weekend.

Indiana also offers something for everyone when it comes to recreation and fun.  Indiana's hiking, horseback riding and biking trail system is richly scenic and offers variety of skill levels to meet any requirement.

When it gets cold outside, hit the slopes for downhill skiing at Paoli Peaks, in Paoli.  There are resorts, apartments and houses for rent in this Indiana area to accommodate a fun a get away.  You may also want to try cross-country skiing or snowshoeing through Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.  When spring comes around you can spend some time canoeing or kayaking through several of the wonderful lakes at Chain O'Lakes State Park.  Boating and Sailing and fishing are another possibility on giant Lake Michigan or at some of the other beautiful lake areas in the state.
