Indiana Information: Indiana, whose name means, "Land of the Indians" has many appealing attributes.   Indiana is 15th in population at nearly 6.3 million.  Its residents are called Hoosiers.   Indiana is bound on the north by Lake Michigan and the state of Michigan; on the east by the state of Ohio; on the south by the state of Kentucky, with which shares the Ohio River as a border, and on the west by Illinois.  Indiana is one of the Great Lakes states.
